idempotency_key_reuse error (HTTP 409)

HTTP status: 409 Conflict

The Idempotency-Key on this request was already used for a create with a different request body. The API refuses it rather than replaying a response that belongs to another request.

Common causes

• A client reused one key for two different creates.
• The same key was sent to a different create endpoint.
• The body changed between a request and its retry, for example a regenerated name or a reordered field list.

How to fix

Generate a new key (a UUID works) for each logical create, and send the identical body when you retry. See Conventions → Idempotency.
