conflict error (HTTP 409)

HTTP status: 409 Conflict

Another request changed the same resource first, and yours lost the race. Nothing from your request was saved.

Common causes

• Two requests created a resource with the same key at the same moment. One succeeded and the other gets conflict.
• The resource was updated or deleted by someone else between your read and your write.

How to fix

Fetch the resource again and decide whether your change still applies. After a duplicate create, a GET by key returns the resource the other request made. Retrying the same create without checking will fail with a different error, because the key is now taken.
