Who We Are
Featureflip is a feature flag management platform operated by Canopy Labs LLC, a company registered in the United States. When this policy refers to "we," "us," or "our," it means Canopy Labs LLC.
What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and hashed password when you create an account.
- Usage analytics: We use Grafana Faro to collect anonymized usage data such as page views, feature interactions, and performance metrics. You can opt out of analytics in your account settings.
- Billing information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.
- Evaluation context: When your applications evaluate feature flags through our SDKs, you may pass user attributes (such as user IDs or email addresses) as evaluation context. This data is processed transiently for flag evaluation and is not stored.
- Audit logs: We record administrative actions (flag changes, environment updates) for security and compliance purposes.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the Featureflip service
- To authenticate your account and authorize access
- To process payments through Stripe
- To send transactional emails (password resets, team invitations)
- To improve our product through aggregated usage analytics
Third-Party Processors
We share data with the following third-party services to operate Featureflip:
- Stripe — Payment processing
- Cloudflare — CDN, DNS, and web application firewall
- Grafana Cloud — Application monitoring and analytics (opt-out available)
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- Hetzner — Cloud infrastructure and self-hosted PostgreSQL database (EU region)
Where Your Data Is Stored
Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner Cloud, EU region). Regardless of where you access Featureflip from, your data is stored and processed in the EU.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: Export a copy of your personal data from your account settings.
- Delete your data: Request account deletion from your account settings. Your account will be deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period.
- Opt out of analytics: Disable usage analytics from your account settings at any time.
- Correct your data: Update your name and email from your profile page.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is permanently removed after a 30-day grace period (during which you can recover your account). Audit logs are anonymized upon account deletion.
Cookies
Featureflip uses essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We use localStorage to store your analytics consent preference. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the application.
