Frequently asked questions
- Is Featureflip free to use?
- Yes! The Solo plan is free forever and is a great starting point for individual developers and side projects. It includes 1 project, 10 feature flags, and 2 environments — enough to gate features across a staging and production setup. There are no credit card requirements, no trial period, and no hidden fees. When your team grows or your product scales, paid plans add significantly more capacity. The Pro plan is $49 per month (or $39 per month billed annually) and includes 5 projects, unlimited flags, up to 5 team members, and 30-day audit logs. The Business plan is $149 per month (or $119 per month billed annually) and covers 25 projects, unlimited flags, up to 25 team members, and 90-day audit logs. You can start on Solo and upgrade when you are ready — no migration required.
- Can I change plans later?
- Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. Upgrading is instant — as soon as your payment processes, you get immediate access to the new plan's features, higher flag limits, additional projects, and increased team member seats. This means you can start a sprint on the Solo plan and bump up to Pro mid-project without any disruption to your running flags or integrations. Downgrading works on a billing cycle basis: the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you retain full access until then. Your flags and project data are preserved through any plan change — nothing is deleted automatically. If you downgrade below your current usage, you will be prompted to reduce flags or team members before the cycle ends to stay within the new plan limits.
- What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
- When you approach your plan's flag or project limits, Featureflip sends you a notification so you have time to act before hitting the ceiling. Existing flag evaluation continues to work without interruption — your users will not see any difference in behavior. The restriction only applies to creating new feature flags or new projects beyond what your plan allows. For example, if you are on the Solo plan with its 10-flag limit and try to create an eleventh flag, the creation will be blocked until you either upgrade or delete an existing flag. This design ensures that shipping code is never impacted by billing limits. Upgrading your plan immediately removes the restriction, and you can create new flags right away. We recommend monitoring your usage from the project dashboard to stay ahead of limits before they affect your development workflow.
- Do you offer annual billing?
- Yes, annual billing is available on both paid plans and saves you approximately 20% compared to paying month by month. The Pro plan drops from $49 per month to $39 per month when billed annually — a saving of $120 per year. The Business plan drops from $149 per month to $119 per month annually — a saving of $360 per year. Annual billing makes sense for teams that have moved past experimentation and are committed to using feature flags as a core part of their delivery workflow. You pay for the full year upfront, and access is provisioned immediately for the entire term. Switching from monthly to annual billing can be done from your account settings at any time, and the cost difference is prorated so you only pay for the remaining value of your new annual term.
- Is there an Enterprise plan?
- Yes, Featureflip offers Enterprise pricing for organizations that need capabilities beyond what the Business plan provides. Enterprise is a custom arrangement tailored to your team's scale and requirements. Common reasons teams choose Enterprise include needing more than 25 projects, more than 25 team members, custom data retention policies beyond 90-day audit logs, a guaranteed service level agreement, a dedicated support contact, or on-premise deployment for environments where data cannot leave your own infrastructure. Enterprise agreements also support single sign-on integration, custom contract terms, and volume discounts for large engineering organizations. The pricing is negotiated directly and depends on your usage profile and the specific features you need. To get started, reach out to our sales team at [email protected] with a description of your team size and requirements, and we will respond within one business day.
