ConfigCat's hosted plans are flat tiers with product ceilings and network-traffic allowances, and annual billing saves up to 10%. Forever Free covers 2 products and 20GB/mo of traffic. Pro is $110 per month billed annually ($120 month-to-month) for 3 products and 100GB/mo. Smart is $325 per month ($360 month-to-month) for 10 products and 1TB/mo. What happens if I exceed my plan's product or traffic limit?
Nothing is billed automatically — ConfigCat charges no per-unit overage fee. Exceeding a product, flag, or environment cap on Free, Pro, or Smart requires upgrading to the next tier. Traffic and config.json download limits are soft. ConfigCat says it will keep serving your data and flags, and each paid tier sells an add-on block at the same price on monthly or annual billing: $95/mo on Pro adds 25M downloads and 100GB, $270/mo on Smart adds 250M and 1TB, and $760/mo on Enterprise adds 1B and 4TB. Dedicated, the tier above Enterprise, is $4,500/mo on annual billing only, with 24TB/mo of traffic, hosted or on-premise. A few limits on the higher tiers (flags, environments) are marked as "technical limits" in ConfigCat's docs and are raised by contacting support rather than billed.
What forces an upgrade from Pro to Smart?
Any one of Pro's three caps: a 4th product, a 101st flag, or a 4th environment. Going past Pro's 100GB/mo of traffic, or its config.json download allowance, means buying a $95/mo add-on block instead (25M more downloads and 100GB), and Pro plus one block is $205/mo on annual billing against $325 for Smart.
How is this estimate calculated?
The calculator checks your products and monthly network traffic against ConfigCat's Forever Free caps first. Past those, it prices every paid tier whose product ceiling fits, adds add-on blocks wherever your traffic runs past that tier's allowance, and shows the cheapest result. That is how Pro plus one $95 block ($205 a month on annual billing) comes out ahead of Smart at $325. Featureflip's side is a flat price that does not change with project count or traffic.
